Throw Ups The history of the "throw-up" started with writers in the 70's doing quick "bubble-letter" pieces to "get-up" fast. The first writer and crew to take this form of "bombing" to a new level was, IN-1 & THE TOP CREW. Their goal was to take over the whole subway system. They accomplished this by inventing the two-letter throw-up which helped them become "All-city" kings in the mid 1970's. Many writers used this concept and took it to a new level. Originality is also very important and writers could be criticized for having a "whack" "throwie"

COMET's come back on the 2's and 5's, 1986.
BLADE : I never understood COMET's come back in 1986. The man was away for a couple of year's and the next thing he does is go bombing with sixteen year olds. I loved the guy but he would some times do some wacky things. |
P REVOLT. RTW In late 1982 the RTW crew would take total contral of the BMT's with some of the original members of the group. REVOLT was that such member who helped maintain the group's dominance on all 4 subway lines. *************************************************
COMET : I'm proud of my come back on the 2's and 5's in 1986. I kept blasting those trains until the M.T.A painted the last train red. To be a King you had to stay on top untill the very end. |

IN and TO 729 The TOP crew were the all time kings of transit. Led by TO 729 aka MICKEY, IN aka KILL 3 and OI aka HURST would be seen on almost every subway car in the mid and late 1970's. |
FUZZONE & FLAME PIC. Here in this photo we see a FUZZONE, DA 2, LM aka LOVE MACHINE all throw up's done by FUZZONE. He would go by so many other names during his reign of the number 7-line. In this photo shows a plane style piece by FLAME his former partner in crime.
