Throw Ups

The history of the "throw-up" started with writers in the 70's doing quick "bubble-letter" pieces to "get-up" fast.  The first writer and crew to take this form of "bombing" to a new level was, IN-1 & THE TOP CREW.  Their goal was to take over the whole subway system.   They accomplished this  by inventing the two-letter throw-up which helped them become "All-city" kings in the mid 1970's.  Many writers used this concept and took it to a new level.  Originality is also very important and writers could be criticized for having a "whack" "throwie"

...     The Return of LORD FUZZOLA aka IVORY aka SLURP 7, aka  PRINCE and the list goes on. TESTIFY BOOKS invites you to celebrate the long awaited Publication of  " A BRONX CHILDHOOD  ".  SEPTEMBER 20th 2005. Book signing, Rival 225 Hudson street just north of Canel street.

In the early 1990's FUZZ ONE along with GHOST , SAR 1, VEN and VFR aka VEEFER took on a strong All City bombing campaign during a time when the T.A ( Transit Authority ) made a pledge in 1989 that no train will go in to service with Graffiti. FUZZ ONE and his boys would change that by striking every yard in lay up in the City with pieces, top to bottoms, throw ups as well as wall papering the insides with tags. Many of there art work on the trains went in to service and angered the M.T.A. - For more information pick up a Bronx Childhood by ; FUZZ ONE

SAGO !

In the mid 1980's RTW and the WOW crew dominated all the Brooklyn Subway lines.

VEZA aka VISA.

VISA was a Queens writer  who bombed the trains with GHOST and the Ris crew in the 1980's

MASK ;  The WOW crew was from Bath avenue which is where I lived when I started writing. There are guys from  Sheeps head bay who were tearing up the the area like STUN  ( Who was SNOW's older brother ) and his partner KAZE 1 ( DJ TODD TERRY ) , IG, POE and MAGIC All killed Brooklyn back then and are never spoken of.  MUGS 1 was the original prez of the WOW crew and lived a few blocks from Marlboro Projects. MR.MINT, TC69, CE, MOHAN they all started around the same time as MUGS but it was MUGS  that brought these guys to the Subways. It's important that we all learn more about this history as a whole.
